Our Story

Some people meet in coffee shops or classrooms, we met in 2009 on what we like to call our field of dreams. Others might say it was just a softball field, but for us, it was the beginning of everything.

By 2012, we were saying “I do,” and Nina was deep in her natural element: planning a massive, beautiful, over‑the‑top wedding. What most people didn’t know then is that event planning wasn’t just something she did, it was her love language. The bigger the vision, the happier she was. And honestly, nothing has changed.

Over the years, Jason found his own passion too. What started as helping out at weddings on the side turned into something he genuinely loved: being part of their celebrations and helping create moments people remember. It became his quiet joy, the thing he looked forward to outside of everyday life.

Together, we built a life full of family, celebrations, and big dreams. As our son grew up and we welcomed our first granddaughter to spoil, we finally had the space to think about our next chapter.

So in 2026, we took the leap we’d been talking about for years. We decided it was time to build something of our own, something rooted in joy, creativity, and the magic of bringing people together.

Born and raised in the Yakima Valley, Nina Brown brings a blend of hometown heart and high‑level expertise to the event world. After earning her MBA from Washington State University, she stepped confidently into the industry with a vision for elevating celebrations through creativity, intention, and unforgettable guest experiences.

Nina is the creative force behind Beyond the Bar — known for her eye for design, her love of curated details, and her passion for transforming simple ideas into standout event moments. With deep roots in the community and a fresh, modern approach to hospitality, she’s ready to make her mark on the event scene.

Jason Brown
COO & Manager

Jason Brown brings the business backbone and operational excellence that power Beyond the Bar. With a Bachelor’s in Business Science and years of worldwide work travel, he’s developed exceptional people skills, sharp sales instincts, and a global perspective on hospitality and service.

As COO and Manager, Jason blends a business‑minded approach with a natural ability to connect with clients, lead teams, and create seamless event experiences. His background in diverse cultures and high‑pressure environments has shaped him into a communicator who reads a room instantly and a strategist who keeps operations running with precision.

Driven, adaptable, and deeply committed to elevating every event, Jason ensures Beyond the Bar delivers professionalism, polish, and unforgettable service at every level.
